Does Sakhya only sell pre-loved clothing?

Sakhya features both new products from our favorite designers and resale items, which are gently used, pre-owned garments from Sakhya sellers all over the US.

What is Sakhya’s curation process for selecting items for sale on their platform?

We look at current, upcoming and emerging South Asian fashion trends to determine the types of pieces we accept on our platform. What we choose to list can vary time-to-time based on the season and demand.

How does Sakhya ensure all items sold on the platform are clean?

We only accept and list items that our sellers identify as clean and in excellent condition. Additionally, we required high quality photos in order to validate the garment's condition.

What is Sakhya's size guide?

As we are a marketplace featuring multiple brands and designers that may have their own size classifications, we offer a universal sizing information in the description of each product under "Size Guide"

Can I make an offer on a product on your site?

You are welcome to contact us to make an offer on any item on our site. Only offers within 10-15% of the listing price will be considered, but it is not guaranteed that it will be accepted.

What is your return policy?

How long will it take to ship my order?

Sakhya Resale items usually ship within 2-3 business days.

Designer Sample items usually ship within 3-5 business days

How long will it take to receive my order?

Most of our orders deliver within 3-5 days after ship date, but there can be exceptions. If you are curious about a particular item’s ship date, please contact us.

How much does shipping cost?

Specific shipping is calculated at checkout.

Who pays for shipping? 

The buyer pays for shipping. Sellers do not pay any shipping costs.

What if I purchased an item and it is not as described on its listing/what kind of buyer protection do you offer?

We require all our sellers to be as transparent and upfront about an item and its condition when listing with Sakhya. If you received an order that is not as described in the listing (e.g. item is not genuine, condition, sizing or quality was incorrect), please contact us immediately and we will work with you to make it right. Please note, if you do not reach out to us about an issue with your order within 3 days of receiving it, we cannot guarantee a refund.

What is the difference between Sakhya Concierge and the self–serve platform?

The self-serve platform is an easy way to sell your South Asian fashion on your own. All that’s required are photos, measurements, and some details on your outfit. Please note, only items we deem will have a chance of selling on our platform will be approved. 

Sakhya Concierge is a premium resale service where sellers with items totaling an original purchase price of $800 or more are eligible to send us their pieces to manage and sell their listings for them. Only brand name items qualify for Sakhya Concierge.

What are the fees to sell? 

There are no upfront costs to list an item for sale with Sakhya. We only take a fee when your item sells.

Sakhya Concierge: 30% commission fee

Self-Serve Platform: 20% commission fee

What criteria does Sakhya look at when determining what items are approved to sell on the platform?

We look at the following criteria when appraising each item to sell on our platform: Garment style/trend/brand, Condition, Quality, Price, and Photo quality. Please see our photo guide and measuring guide for tips.

How do you set the sale price for an item? 

Sellers may set their desired sale price for each item they list; however, we may advise to adjust it in case it’s not a reasonable sale price given the current resale market for that type of item.

How long will it take for my listings to go live once I submit them on the self-serve platform? 

All listings undergo a thorough digital review process upon which sellers will be notified with an update regarding each submission. If approved, the product will be live to shop on our site within 5 days of submission. If the item is not approved, we will contact the submitter either requesting more information or a notice if the item is not a good fit for our platform at this time.

When and how do I get paid for an item that sells on your platform? 

Once a buyer places an order for your item on our platform, we will email you a prepaid shipping label to pack and ship your order within 3 business days. Once the package is in transit, we will send you your payout via PayPal.

Please note, if you do not acknowledge your sale nor ship your item within 3 business days, the order will be cancelled and your listing will be removed from our platform.

What happens if I listed something inaccurately on Sakhya's platform?

Trust is very important to us when managing a resale platform. If a seller has listed something inaccurately on our site and a buyer notifies us, the seller may be at risk of having a poor seller review and not being able to sell with us again in the future.

Do you work with sellers outside the US?

We currectly only work with sellers within the US.
